This is used with either the sticky flock method or the Dot to Dot...Crystal to Crystal method of creating your own motifs using crystals and metals.  The clear part is heat resistant and has a fairly strong tackiness to it to hold the crystals right where you want them.  Once the crystals are adhered to the mylar, place it on top of the fabric and press as per instructions for your crystals or metals.
